phoenix is a plugin for Hermes Agent. It adds safety, routing, and self-healing features to your AI agents. You do not need to change any Hermes core code. The plugin hooks into the official system.

Follow these steps to download and run phoenix on Windows.
Open your web browser. Go to the phoenix releases page:
Look for the newest version at the top of the page. It will have a green “Latest” badge. Click the name of that release.
Scroll down to the “Assets” section. Find the file named phoenix-setup.exe. Click on it. Your browser will ask you where to save the file. Pick a folder you can find later. Click “Save”.
Go to the folder where you saved the file. Double-click phoenix-setup.exe. If Windows asks for permission, click “Yes”. The installer will start.
The installer will show you a few screens. Click “Next” on each one. Choose a folder for the program if you want. The default folder is fine. Click “Install”. Wait for the progress bar to finish. Click “Finish”.
Find the phoenix icon on your desktop. Double-click it. The program will open. You will see a small window with a status message.
Your computer needs these things to run phoenix:
After you launch phoenix, it connects to your Hermes Agent. You will see a green light when the connection is ready.
Click the “Settings” button. You will see several options:
The main window shows a log of all actions. You see every routed request, blocked risk, or healed error. This helps you understand what the plugin does.
The plugin checks for updates automatically. When a new version is ready, you will see a yellow bar. Click it to download and install the update.
phoenix does not start Make sure you have Hermes Agent running. Close phoenix. Open it again. If it still fails, restart your computer.
The connection light is red Check your internet connection. Make sure Hermes Agent is on the same network. Restart both programs.
The plugin blocks a safe request Open the Settings. Lower the Safety Level to “Medium”. You can also add the request to the allow list.
I cannot find the download file Go to the releases page again. Look for the “Assets” drop-down. Click it to expand the list of files. The installer is inside.
After you install phoenix, these files appear in the program folder:

You do not need to touch these files. The program manages them for you.
Open Windows Settings. Go to “Apps”. Find “phoenix” in the list. Click “Uninstall”. Follow the prompts. The plugin is removed from your system.
